This gun was originally designed to be fitted on my DTT project, but I decided to go with my Harpoon/Gatling ([link]) instead because this gun was to bulky. Basically, the idea is to have 3 independent gatling guns mounted on a planetary gear setup. The result is a gatling gun with gatling guns for barrels (hence the rotary squared).
I am posting this because I think the concept is pretty cool (can we say, helix of bullets :)). Also, I am using this opportunity to let you all know that my DTT project will be delayed a couple off days. I am going out of town and will not be able to do any modeling. Sorry to any impatient watchers, but what are you gonna do?
Oh yeah, if anyone wants to use this concept in their own work, please be my guest. I would love to see this design utilized. Please just give my name a mention if you do.
[Edit]
Just discovered skylight! Going back and re-rendering my recent submissions employing said discovery.

My imagination is bigger than my RAM card.
:O_o: God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. :threaten: :D
Yeah. Can we say decimated? This thing sure would burn through ammo fast, though. Thanks for the complement.

haha wow cool concept man! I was totally thinking about my Mech2.0, but I'll see if I am gonna use it. how did you make alle the marks on the cylinders???
this is absolutely ridiculous but, liked it :)
If you are referring to the parallel lines running along some of the components of the support structure, all I did was: edit poly, select all faces (except for the ends), bevel [by polygon] [height =.3] [outline=-.3]. It is a nice and quick way to break up large, smooth faces and add a little interest.

Heh. That's what I was going for. One of the keywords is "overkill". :)

The idea's nice and the model looks cool too. Is it made out of one object or did you combine some to make the model?
All of the components are grouped together, but the model i made of many individual parts. One advantage of this is that I can animate this gun. A friend of mine is designing a game and wants me to make a (low poly) version of this for him.
